This shot was taken at Billy's Basin, a dive site off Mindarie north of Perth. The water was quite murky but this fish was in a sheltered spot under the reef. The Western Rock Cod is very well camouflaged, difficult to spot and it's spines are very venomous, so we always treat them with respect!!
It's a very pretty colour for such a venomous fish, looks really good when you pull it in close Bill, nice shot.
ReplyDeletePopped over to your blog on Grace's recommendation. Goodness the ocean is sure full of some freaky looking fish. I don't think I would be getting too close to this one!
