This header photograph was taken during a trip to Sipadan Island off the coast of Borneo. It shows a Grey Reef Shark disappearing into the gloom, which drops to around 600 metres deep - I was at around 30 metres!!

Common Octopus In Open
This is another Octopus which initially was in a hole, but then slowly came out while I watched. All the time it was moving, it was changing colour to match the background and eventually it sat in the open looking like a piece of the reef!
Although they are undoubtedly fascinating creatures, I have a massive octopus phobia - anything that smart with all those tentacles, suckers, a beak is terrifying in my book
