Freckled Hawkfish

This shot was taken at Sipadan Island off the NE coast of Sabah, formerly Borneo. It has taken me some time to find out the exact species but I finally tracked it down- good old Google!! It's quite common on the tropical reefs around the north of Western Australia and further up into Asia.

  1. Great wee fish - looks like it could be a go faster fish :)

  2. Beautiful markings on this Freckled Hawkfish, what an amazing splash of colour it creates, you caught it well just as it was coming out from behind the coral.
